Fast Tip on Eating Out

I went to lunch yesterday and watched a guy order a double burger, 2 orders of fries and a large drink.  The cup was actually so big it had a handle.   What’s really amazing is how fast he ate it all.  He ate it all so fast that he actually fell asleep at the restaurant.  If...

Today was a really hard day for my wife and me.  We were woken up by our 3 year old screaming that his neck and head hurt.

After taken him to an Urgent Care room the doctor told us that he was in too much pain and we should take him to Le Bonheur, a local children’s hospital, immediately.  My mom took my other kids and we all went to downtown Memphis to the hospital.

The symptoms had people guessing ear infections, meningitis, and a few other long terms I don’t remember how to say nor spell.

Turns out he was having acute muscle spasms in his neck.  That was actually good news considering what it could have been.   But it worked out real well because I am fortunate to have a good friend of mine who’s a Paramedic and actually once worked at that hospital.  So he took the time to explain to my wife and I what was happening in terms we could understand.

So I’m thankful for good friends, family & a healthy little boy, oh yeah and medical insurance.

Oh no! I hate that you guys had to go through that! I’m not familiar with muscle spasms, but it sounds like it’s a good thing it wasn’t meningitis or anything really serious. Poor guy…. those pictures make me want to just love on him!

Thanks Sara, Me too. It was really hard but with three boys I’ve learned that doctor’s visits can be all too common. The saddest part of the day: He hugged me and said, “Daddy I’m so scared!”.

Okay I’ll admit I actually enjoyed the whole “I need you Daddy” part, but what parent doesn’t?
